The Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation was launched in 2015 and exists to help individuals and their families achieve happiness and fulfilment after life-changing events. The Foundation has a particular focus on assistance that supports mental, as well as physical, health and wellbeing.
Tragically, many of those who suffer a catastrophic injury are not eligible for compensation but the efforts of the Charitable Foundation provides a much-needed lifeline for many of these who may be out of other options.
The Foundation is focused on enhancing life after life-changing injury for as many people as possible. For those left with a disability or cognitive behavioural needs – in particular those with a head or spinal injury – the Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation works to empower them to discover their strengths, support their achievements and protect them in their endeavours.
Norma joined Frenkel Topping in 1998, working her way up to Technical Support Manager until she retired in 2015. She retired early as her mother was sadly poorly with Alzheimers, and passed that year.
Norma then became a carer, along with her sister, for their father until he passed in 2018. She was delighted to be asked if she would be a Trustee and Charity Manager for the Foundation in 2019, as she wanted to do something rewarding.
In her role as Charitable Manager and Trustee, Norma has been investing her time and energy into relaunching and re-establishing the Foundation.
Mark joined Frenkel Topping in 2010, rising through the ranks to his current position as Group Commercial Director and Managing Director. As well as heading up the company’s litigation support team, Mark is also the company’s lead expert for periodical payments/structured settlements, with industry-wide recognition. Having spent more than a decade at Frenkel Topping, Mark understands the devastating impact of severe personal injury and clinical negligence cases and is a proud Trustee of the Charitable Foundation.
Richard joined Frenkel Topping as a Director in 1991 and is now the Group’s CEO. His brother broke his back falling out of a window when he was only 18 and has been paralysed from the waist down ever since. The accident has given Richard a good insight into the effect a catastrophic injury can have on an individual and their family, and it’s this first-hand experience that drives Richard’s passion for the Charitable Foundation and the lifeline it provides.
His Honour Allan Gore KC is a charitable trustee for the Frenkel Topping charitable foundation and values his position as a trustee, helping lead the charity. Allan was called to the Bar in 1978 and took silk in 2003. In 2010, he was appointed a senior circuit judge on the northern circuit and then became the designated civil judge, first in Merseyside, then in Manchester and finally in Exeter until his retirement in 2021. He sat as a deputy High Court judge.
